Dr Tim Rider

Dr Tim Rider graduated with honours from Leeds University Medical School in August 2004 and was awarded the Masser prize in medicine for achieving the best overall score in the final examinations. He completed GP training in 2008 and went on to work as a GP Partner in a busy Harrogate NHS GP practice. Tim is also a qualified pharmacist and has a particular interest in drugs and therapeutics. Whilst continuing as an NHS GP, Tim looks forward to providing a private GP service focusing on giving patients time and continuity. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf and supporting Liverpool football club.

Dr Ben Shacklock

Ben qualified from Newcastle University in 2003 and went into GP training in Newcastle. Originally from Harrogate he was keen to move back home and start practising close to where he was born. He became a salaried doctor at Leeds Road Practice in 2010 and soon became a Partner there. He continues to work as a GP Partner in the NHS but wanted to offer an improved level of care to patients locally so set up Harrogate Private GP with Dr Rider in 2023. He is a GP trainer (PGCert in Primary Care education), an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Leeds University and has an interest in diabetes care (PGCert diabetes).

Outside of medicine, he is an avid runner, embracing both road and ultra / trail running. He is also Chair of Harrogate Harriers running club, aiming to support runners of all levels in the community.
